Fed’s ‘hawkish hold’ steadies gold and silver yet defers uncertainty until September – Experts

The Fed’s decision to hold rates in a hawkish manner lent support to gold and silver prices, yet it pushed market uncertainty over inflation and rates out to September, analysts say. Jesse Colombo observed that the metals held firm despite higher-rate expectations, with gold breaking a triangle pattern higher. He sees gold needing a decisive move above $4,100, then $4,300–$4,600, while silver requires a break above $60–$70. Natixis economists noted three dissents favoring a hike and an almost unchanged statement, shifting focus to the August CPI. Marc Chandler recorded gold at $4,116 and silver up nearly $1. Chris Zaccarelli stressed the 2% inflation target and possible hold through year-end if data improves.
