Gold and Silver Retreat as Dollar and Yields Offset PCE Support

Spot gold and silver prices declined in late U.S. trading on Friday. A stronger dollar, higher Treasury yields and rising oil prices countered the positive effects from softer PCE inflation data released Thursday. Gold traded around 4,050.70 dollars per ounce, falling 1.27 percent, while silver stood near 57.75 dollars, down 1.93 percent.
